The newest member of the Oklahoma State Senate is now officially on the job.
Greg Treat took the oath of office during a ceremony in the Senate Chambers on Wednesday (January 19).

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Oklahoma in the State Senate and I look forward to helping pass a conservative agenda that will create jobs and fuel our economic recovery,” Treat said.

Treat, an Oklahoma City Republican, won the District 47 seat in
a special election held January 11.  Treat will complete the remaining two years of Todd Lamb’s term, who was sworn in as Lt. Governor on January 10.

Treat has served as legislative advisor to the Republican Leader of the House, as well as Legislative Director for then-Lt. Governor Mary Fallin.  For the past six years
he has served as U.S. Senator Tom Coburn’s State Government Relations Director.

Treat has been assigned to General Government, Finance, Veterans and Military Affairs, Retirement and Insurance and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services.

Sen. Treat and his wife Maressa make their home in Northwest Oklahoma City with their two sons, Mason, 3, and Cooper, 8 months.
