Here is a brief summary of the official pre-election voter registration statistics, sent to CapitolBeatOK from the Oklahoma State Election Board. Board Secretary Paul Ziriax also provided a comparison between the statistics as of today, and those for January 15, 2010.

Nov. 1:  2,082,622

Jan. 15:  2,038,620

Net change:  +44,002

DEMOCRATS

Nov. 1:  1,000,520 (48.0% of registered voters)

Jan. 15:  999,855 (49.0% of registered voters)

Net change: +665

REPUBLICANS


Nov. 1:  844,149 (40.5% of registered voters)   

Jan. 15:  813,158 (39.9% of registered voters)

Net change:  +30,991

INDEPENDENTS


Nov. 1:  237,953 (11.4% of registered voters)

Jan. 15:  225,607 (11.1% of registered voters)  

Net change: +12,346
